Every child is unique and therefore so are we...
Children's Quest utilizes various instructional methods to provide students with a diverse learning environment that meets the individual needs of each student's learning style and ability. We utilize multiple teaching methods adapted from the pedalogical styles of Montessori, Waldorf, Dr. Howard Gardner, as well as many others. Our methods encourage students to express themselves with consideration, kindness, integrity, responsibility and wisdom while also providing the knowledge and tools to put these values into action in meaningful ways. Students are challenged to stretch themselves, work outside of their comfort zones, and strive for personal achievement and growth.
Our Programs...
Infant and Toddler Class
Our infant and toddler community accomidates our 6 weeks to 24 month old children. The children attend school 5 days a week.
Our classroom environment is a caring and respectful community where children can learn and explore. We provide a calm environment where children can learn, explore and develop, we keep our student to teacher ratios low. This allows us to give each student individual attention.
The program is structured to facilitate growth in the individual child’s independence and learning through play exploration, as well as positive peer interactions. Infant and Toddlers love to do things for themselves, so we provide a physical environment that allows them to practice self-help skills safely – materials are at their level and in manageable sizes for little hands. Most of the activities involve sensory exploration because young children learn by doing.
Our Early Learner's community is a mixed age class of 2 & 3 year olds. The children attend school 2, 3, or 5 days a week.
We develope an environment that is caring and respectful, where children learn to care for themselves and others around them while gaining academic knowledge. We Teach the children how to keep a calm respectful environment where they can learn, explore and develop at their own pace. We keep our student to teacher ratios low, thus allowing us to give each student individual attention.
2 & 3 year-olds are learning to play more cooperatively with each other. To support these developing skills, much time and attention is given to providing opportunities for all children to develop and sustain ongoing positive relationships with teachers and peers. Teachers facilitate this development by offering suggestions and working with children to solve problems, providing props, modeling ways of interacting, interpreting children’s needs and feelings to each other, and offering comfort and support when needed.
2 & 3 year-olds are intrigued with new ideas and discoveries and our teachers share in their excitement. We encourage children to question, explore and develop theories about the world around them. Most importantly, they learn by doing – talking, writing, listening, reading, exploring, manipulating and interacting with materials and concepts. We encourage them to explore the various learning domains, such as language and literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts, physical development and health. By offering both planned and spontaneous learning experiences developed around a child’s interests, their emerging skills are fostered and nurtured - thus helping children to develop the skills, dispositions, and concepts needed for on-going school success.
